If you click a link on the forum and it brings you to a site that asks for your user information, don't input anything before you finish reading this:

I have seen a lot of of those Link Phishers recently on here and on other forums and I thought I would make this announcement to make people cautious about "live links" in posts.

First of all, ALL links that you post on the forum must be coded using the code button: or wrapped with tags.

Before clicking on a live link, make sure it directs you to the correct webpage.


How to spot a phishing link:


Phishers are scammers that operate to fool internet uses, like you and me, into beleiving that the website or link they are visiting is genuine, with the intention of scamming that person, by stealing their Credit Card details, , username and password, account information, Rapidshare accounts, Megaupload accounts, e-mail accounts, etc etc................

Now hold your cursor over that link (just leave it on. Don't click):

 http://you.havejustbeenphished.com/

now look at your browser status bar (bottom left), can you see that the link points to

 http://you.havejustbeenphished.com/

instead of the link I gave you above?

This can't happen if you wrap your links with tags. However, scammers can still get around this by protecting their links using anonymisers or link protection sites, which are also not allowed on the forum.

So, if you find any of the above, report it to the Staff by clicking on the Report button . This will also prevent your fellow forum members getting phished.

And always stay alert. Don't get ecstatic to input your personal details just because the site you are browsing looks like the original one.

NOTE
All posters Who use ***** as a download link as much as some folk can work out what ***** means. All users especially noobs cant so for those who cant post a proper link then this link will be deleted/ sent to trash don't bother complaining that your post got binned as its posted here in the rules. Give the full URL or don't bother posting at all I myself (Xram edited this post though it has Donnie's name as poster) is getting sick of explaining this to posters some of whom are good posters next time you complain more than once ill delete more than the post thats wrong so you'll maybe lose a few rapid downloads etc. your choice.
